Regional Director of Operations
Century Park Associates - Southeast Region

Position type: Full-time

Position Summary

The Regional Director of Operations (RDO) provides leadership, support and direction to Executive Directors in each community within assigned region to insure delivery of quality care and resident-centered services in accordance with all laws, regulations, and Century Park standards. Reports to the Director of Operations.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in relevant field of study, or equivalent combination of education and experience required
  • Demonstrated success in senior housing or healthcare operations, with minimum three (3) years operational leadership experience in a multi-site, multi-state provider
  • Must have valid driver's license
  • Must have high level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations and documentation, and interaction with others

Specific Requirements

  • Must be knowledgeable of procedures as well as laws, regulations, and guidelines pertaining to ALF/senior housing administration
  • Must be knowledgeable of multiple state ALF licensing requirements region-wide
  • Must be able to effectively communicate policies, procedures, regulations, and reports to staff, residents, families, visitors, government agencies and community
  • Must be able to read and interpret financial records and reports
  • Must have ability to plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures necessary for providing quality services and hospitality while maintaining regional operational goals
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be willing and able to travel extensively
  • Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action
  • Must demonstrate proficient competency in all operational areas including but not limited to: leadership, financial, regulatory compliance, occupancy, resident rights, safety, and talent management
  • Maintains confidentiality of all proprietary and/or confidential information
  • Must understand and follow company policies including harassment and compliance procedures
  • Displays integrity and professionalism by adhering to Century Park's Code of Ethics and completes all required compliance training
  • Must be proficient with Windows, Microsoft Office (Word and Excel), and Outlook

Primary Job Responsibilities

The areas below are expectations for each community, region-wide.

Leadership

  • Demonstrates positive leadership and provides timely and consistent support to Executive Directors and community associates
  • Exemplifies and models the company Mission and Values of "people come first," and consistently utilizes a "servant leader" approach to training, support and development of others
  • Responsible for growth, productivity and development of communities within assigned region

Financial and Operations

  • Accountable for financial performance of assigned region (i.e., operating margin, census goals, budgeted revenue, expense goals)
  • Understands licensure and regulatory requirements and assists communities in achieving and maintaining licensure and accreditation
  • Partners with Executive Directors to develop and implement operating budget
  • Assists in development, implementation and support of standardized operating policies and procedures
  • Serves as a resource for resident, family and associate concerns

Sales and Marketing

  • Ensures Century Park sales model is implemented successfully
  • Provides direction, vision and strategy to assist in achieving competitive advantage in senior living services in the area
  • Actively participates in sales and marketing events
  • Ensures each community maintains a positive image in the greater community and develops positive relationships with business leaders and referral sources

Talent Development

  • Trains, evaluates, supervises, supports, counsels and develops Executive Directors
  • Responsible for career development and succession planning for Executive Directors
  • Promotes and monitors company's standards for Talent (i.e., hiring process, orientation, on-the-job training, evaluations, corrective action processes, etc.)
  • Promotes staff retention efforts in the region

Essential Functions

  • Must demonstrate effective, on-going and timely communications (verbal and written) with leadership, communities and Century Park departments
  • Must be able to train, develop, support, evaluate, and direct Executive Directors to ensure high quality resident care and services are delivered
  • Must ensure each community is compliant with all Federal, State, local, requirements
  • Must serve as effective representative of Century Park in the region
  • Must ensure all operational goals (including census, staffing, operating margins) are met
  • Must exhibit excellent customer service and a positive attitude
  • Must demonstrate dependable, regular attendance
  • Must be able to concentrate and use reasoning skills and good judgment
  • Must be able to communicate and function productively on an interdisciplinary team
  • Must be able to sit, stand, bend, lift, push, pull, stoop, walk, reach, and move intermittently during working hours
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
  • Must be able to lift weight as deemed appropriate for the position
