Monse Friend

Hola! My name is Monse Friend, and I have been working in Assisted Living communities for eight years. I started as a server at an AL community in Texas called Greatwood Retirement. I got my CNA license and continued to work there until I started nursing school to become an LVN. I had the opportunity to try the different settings for a nurse but decided to return to my passion for senior care. After a couple of years of being charge nurse in the retirement home setting, I was ready take on a larger leadership role as ALD.

I discovered my passion for healthcare when I started high school in Mexico, where we were allowed to take on a technical career at the same time. I chose nursing as my career during high school and then went on to pursue a degree in that field in college. When I graduated from high school with a technical career in nursing, I was already in love with it and wanted nothing else but to help ease pain in the special way that only a nurse can. That was 11 years ago!

I am married to Staff Sergeant Trenton Friend from the Space Force. We have a beautiful son, Noah, who is almost 2. We are establishing our family here in the Springs with the guidance of our Lord Jesus Christ. May He guide my hand in bringing my community to success, prosperity, and joyfulness.

During my free time, I enjoy quality family time with my family in Texas, reading a leadership-themed book, wine tasting, swimming, and volunteering to visit patients in my local memory care communities.

My motto is: Knowledge is power, and those with power have a responsibility to teach and guide others without it.
