Meet Our Executive Director

Chet Matheny

My wife and I moved from Chattanooga to the Columbia area in 2021, and we quickly made it our home.

I seemingly have been in the long-term care industry my whole life. My mother was the CEO of a reputable skilled nursing company before it sold in 2020. Throughout my childhood, I attended many community events across the country with my mom and loved to help serve in each of those communities. I learned at a young age that my purpose was similar to my mother’s: to serve the elderly in their time of need.

Going through school, I started as a maintenance intern at a skilled nursing community. This quickly turned into a full-time role at the community, taking on multiple roles to fill the needs for the building. My diversified experience in maintenance, human resources, the business office, etc., allowed me to go through a state-approved administrator-in-training program, and I became a Licensed Nursing Home Administrator in 2020.

Taking on the Executive Director role at The Bridge at Columbia has felt like a perfect match between myself and Century Park in terms of mission and values. I have always been of the mindset that if your associates are happy, then your residents will, in return, be satisfied. I will always strive to make my community a comfortable and fulfilling atmosphere for my associates to work and for my residents to live.
