I grew up in Gig Harbor. After graduating from high school, I attended the University of Washington in Seattle, majoring in health education.
My plan at age 20 was to work in the hospital setting and help people become educated about living a healthy lifestyle. A few years into my career, I was offered a marketing director position at a retirement community that was associated with a local church.
I quickly realized how my childhood had shaped my passion to care for seniors. I have loved working with older adults since I was a child, partly due to my dad, who often visited his bank clients in nursing homes. Starting in the 4th grade, I would ask him if I could tag along, so I could help brighten their day and so they could tell me about their lives. The rich history and legacy of each of my father’s clients made a lasting impression on me.
More than 30 years later, I have never wanted to be anywhere else. I have a passion for serving our seniors and giving them a safe and enriching environment at retirement and beyond.
My husband and I met at church when I began working in senior care. We’ve been married for 30+ years and have one son and four beautiful grandchildren. We moved from North Tacoma back to Gig Harbor eight years ago. I watched Harbor Place being built but never imagined I would one day be working here as the Executive Director, only 10 minutes from my home.
I've managed communities in Mercer Island, Silverdale, Tacoma, Auburn, and now, Gig Harbor. The most rewarding part of my life is that I still get to fulfill my passion and help people live a healthy lifestyle every day, thanks to Century Park and the standards of excellence we share with our residents.Join Our Team
