Rita Hood has been the executive director at lake Pointe Landing since 2005. She holds graduate and undergraduate degrees from Appalachian State University and has a business management certification from USC Columbia.
Rita was born in Hendersonville, North Carolina and still resides there with her husband, Tim. Her family owns McConnell Farms, where she spends her free time selling produce from the farm and scooping their homemade ice cream.
Rita is very involved in the greater Hendersonville community, volunteering with various organizations, including the Hendersonville Symphony, the Rotary Club, the United Way and the Pardee Hospital Foundation. One of her degrees is in music, which she still enjoys as a church choir director/pianist/organist at Cummings Memorial United Methodist Church.
Rita’s passion for serving seniors began at a young age, as she helped her parents care for various relatives and visited with them in local facilities. The visits shaped her desire to make a difference in the lives of those who are approaching the often-difficult silver-haired years.
Rita looks forward to coming to work each day, knowing that Lake Pointe Landing has such a caring team in place to assist their residents with whatever needs they have. Her favorite part of the job is the interaction she enjoys with her residents and their families and the satisfaction she gets from knowing that she is helping in some small way to make their lives just a bit better.Join Our Team
